FTC Goes to Flagstaff!

In the dark of the night on January 15th two FTC teams made their way up the highway to the competition in Flagstaff.   For the next 9 hours team 201 and 4303 battled it out with 16 other teams from around the state.   Team 201 quickly realized that it’s only hope depended on its ability to troll around the field.  After some initial setbacks Nick D. proved to be a skilled pilot for the bot.  As the day wore on 201 was gradually transformed into the feared troll bot.

Team 4303 had better luck.  Behind the controls, Gabe managed to maneuver 4303 to a 6th place finish despite the face plants were prevalent during the last part of the day.  We made it to the finals…the fist game we lost 40 to zero.  Not a good start.   The second game we won 45 to 32…there was hope!   The last game we lost 24 to 20.  We  lost best 2 of 3 games to the team that eventually won.  Not a bad showing!

After a hardy snowball fight, the team loaded up the bus and road in darkness back home.

4303 won the PTC Design award.
